1. Why this page exists
NoLoss writes about gambling addiction. That sits where health and money meet, and wrong information there does real harm. What follows are the rules every article we publish has to meet.
2. We do not hide who we are
NoLoss is a company. It sells a subscription product, and we would like you to read our writing and buy it. We do not repeat that at the top of every article, but we do not conceal it anywhere either.
That interest produces two rules:
- We do not present the product as the whole answer. NoLoss makes access harder. It does not replace therapy, a helpline, or a person who cares about you, and our articles say so.
- We do not put professional support behind the product. Where an article mentions both, the helpline is written as its own option, not as something that follows from using NoLoss.
3. We do not give medical advice
A gambling disorder is diagnosed by a clinician, not by an article. The signs, criteria and self-assessment questions in our writing are there to inform. They are not a diagnostic tool and they do not replace a treatment plan.
Every article carries that note and points the reader to a professional.
4. Support resources come from one record
Every helpline, self-exclusion register and organisation named on this site is read from a single record in the codebase. No page carries a hand-typed phone number.
The reason is simple: showing a German reader a Turkish helpline is not a cosmetic bug. It is a wrong answer given to someone reaching for help.
- Each language sees its own country's bodies. YEDAM on Turkish pages, BIÖG and OASIS on German, FEJAR and RGIAJ on Spanish, GamCare and GAMSTOP on English.
- Numbers are re-checked against their primary source every quarter, and the verification date is kept with the record. A number we cannot verify is removed — a stale number is worse than none.
- We always state what a national register does not cover. These schemes bind licensed operators only; unlicensed sites stay reachable. Leaving that out would let a reader believe they are protected when they are not.
5. We do not link to gambling operators
No article links to a betting site, a gambling platform or their affiliates. We take no affiliate revenue and accept no payment for coverage.
Where an example is needed, we do not use real operator names.
6. Language and approach
When writing about addiction, how something is said matters as much as what is said.
- No blame, no shaming. Shame drives concealment, and concealment drives relapse.
- We do not dramatise the sums people have lost.
- We never imply that quitting is simply a matter of wanting it enough.
- We do not suggest coping methods that rely on pain or physical discomfort.
- We treat relapse as a common part of the process, not as failure.
7. Updates and corrections
Published articles are living documents. Each one shows its publication date and the date it was last updated.
If you find an error or something that has gone out of date, write to destek@noloss.app. Where we confirm a factual error we correct the article and change its updated date. We do not correct silently: changes that alter meaning are noted in the article.
